Faceforce.
May 20, 2008
You heard me, Faceforce.
Created by Clara Shih, a product manager on the AppExchange, Faceforce brings a potential user the ability to link a contact in Salesforce to a userpage on Facebook. Upon linking the two, Faceforce will harvest basically any piece of information available from the Facebook userpage, and store it in within the appropriate contact’s information.
An excellent example of the sales applications of this is found in the Faceforce demo on the official website, when the demonstrator looks into a demo client’s profile to reveal he really likes Family Guy, a tidbit of information that might be very useful for someone looking to start up a casual sales call.
I don’t know if a prospective client is going to be amused by Meg’s special pie for Brian, but if it’s in his Facebook profile, chances improve significantly.
The post that put me on to it is here, more good info over here, and the official site here.
